A Mate's Bite by Milly Taiden

Mission: Crack her walls
She. Is. His. Nathan Wolfe marked Karla. His mate. Deeply involved in pack politics, Nate has had to stay away. When his sister warns that Karla needs him more than he thinks, he'll discover a bundle of secrets only his wolf can sniff out. But getting the woman he cares about to let down her guard may prove to be his undoing.

Mission: Embrace the bite
With Karla's wayward sister wreaking havoc and friends needing more of his time than ever, Nate will have to rearrange his priorities if he ever hopes to earn Karla's trust. Review:

I’m not sure how and why I was introduced to the author Milly Taiden, but I am so glad that I have been.  Sexy, feisty female characters with curves are her specialty. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for her new release “A Mate’s Bite.” I am familiar enough with this series, having already read “Scent of a Mate.” I knew to expect a sexy Wolf shifter, Nathan, and a no nonsense female lead, Karla.  Nathan had me from the moment MT said tattoos ran up and down his body. :sighs: A tatted shifter, YES please!

The best thing about this book was Karla. From the moment she blew air into her cleavage (don't we all :) ) I knew I would like her. She didn’t take any crap from Nathan and refused to play the shrinking violet. And when it came down to telling Nathan how much she wanted him, Karla was not about to play the shy game. She knew who and what she wanted & wasn't shy about letting him know. And what a man to want. The chemistry and the love scenes between these two characters almost blew me out of my seat. Spicy, steamy, hot, titillating whatever you want to call it – the love scenes were all of that and more. I cannot wait for the next book.

Milly Taiden is definitely an author to check out.

Dragos Takes a Holiday (Elder Races, #6.5) by Thea Harrison

Dragos Takes a Holiday (Elder Races, #6.5)Dragos Takes a Holiday by Thea Harrison
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What do you get when you mix a dragon and a unicorn? PEANUT!

Can we please talk about how adorable Peanut (aka Liam) is?

I will never get tired of reading about Dragos, Pia and Liam or just Dragos and Pia. I loved them from Dragon Bound and pray that they appear in some manner in the other Elder Race books. :sighs: I love Liam and I cannot wait til he grows into his scales. Now that is going to be quite the story.

If you love the Elder Race books then this one will not disappoint except that it ends too quickly. I WANT MORE!

Dragos is still yummy and oh so frightening and Pia is still all that is good and light wrapped up in a vegan package.

I loved the treasure hunting aspect because we all know that dragons love treasure and this was the perfect plot. A vacation of treasure hunting - time to find more for his horde. Amazing idea and an amazing story.

He was shaking now, not out of fear but because he was crying. Because everything
she’d just said had been everything he’d always wanted to hear, he just hadn’t realized it.
Not until right now.
“Are you going to let me love you?” she whispered.
He swallowed hard. He couldn’t speak; if he tried, he would just end up sobbing, so he
nodded instead and Ellie’s beautiful face, her eyes, her mouth, smiled at him in return.

Go ahead Ellie. Way to soothe the beast.

I just had to share that because honestly that is my favorite part of this book.

I ship Dirty and Ellie!

No Ifs, Ands, or Bears About It (Grayslake, #1) by Celia Kyle

No Ifs, Ands, or Bears About It (Grayslake, #1)No Ifs, Ands, or Bears About It by Celia Kyle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I knew I wanted to read this book the instant I read the second line of the synopsis. Bear cub in the pantry, can we say adorable?

Parker is so cute and, in my mind's eye, is so cuddly.

Cue the Aaaaaaaah's as well as the protective instincts. This isn't my first time reading Celia Kyle and it won't be my last. I love how get's into her character's heads. The slang and the phrases that they use are realistic, which makes me feel like I'm talking to one of my friends. You're introduced to a variety of characters, mostly sexy bear shifters, and I am hoping that all of their stories will be told because there is some serious potential. Anywho, I enjoyed this book.

Beck (Corps Security #3) by Harper Sloan

Synopsis:

**Warning** This book is intended for a mature reading**

~DEE~

I’ve always been good at wearing masks. Not letting anyone see the real me. I’m content being the happy-go-lucky best friend. The strong willed boss. The independent woman who doesn’t need a man.

But the truth is I’m just as broken as the rest of you. I’m terrified that all it will take is one person to make all my carefully constructed walls crumble into fine dust. So I guard my heart with everything I have. Determined to never let anyone get close enough to hurt me again.

All is perfect until HE walks into my life. No… he doesn’t just walk. He struts his good-looking, sex-oozing self-right into my space and demands that I see HIM. Making me want what I know I can’t have.

So I did the only thing I know how to do.
I run.
But he just won’t let me go.

~BECK~

The second I see her, I know she will be mine. I see past the gorgeous smiles and heart-stopping laughter. I see HER. She doesn’t want me to know her secrets or the past that haunts her, but I make it my mission to find out.

To make her mine.

She can run all she wants, but it will never be far enough to stop me from coming after her.
She’s it for me and she knows it.
She’s just too scared to admit it.

Review:
Once again I am so honored & jazzed to be one of the first few people to get ahold of Beck and Dee's story thru Twinsie Talk Book Tours.

The first thing I think its very important to understand is that this is not a fluff piece. An easy read. There are books that are emotionally hard to read and this is one of them. I know I wasn't the only one hearing Danity Kane's Damaged as I read this. Dee's background is so troubled and so dark that you can't help, but want the best for her. (Along with some serious therapy) The world is not all unicorns and glitter, and just because you have been introduced to the man of your dreams doesn't always mean you two are the right fit at that direct time. I say this, not as a deterrent, but as a reason why a person should read this book.

I am familiar with the entire series (I did review Cage when it was released as well). It is always nice to return to a favored series and visit known characters. From the getgo Beck and Dee's relationship was doomed. Dee was definitely not ready for what Beck was willing to give to her and wouldn't be ready for sometime.

For this book, the pace was slow enough for you to actually see the progress of Beck/Dee, but not so slow that the book was in danger of falling into the dreaded DNF (did not finish pile). And one of the most important parts of this book, Harper reminded me of Stephen King because in his books no one is safe. Anyone and everyone is vulnerable. Even though what happened - happened I was relieved to see that his brother was welcomed into the circle. I cannot wait to see how he is incorporated in this series; a series which get's better and better with each release.

Sex Piston (Biker Bitches #1) by Jamie Begley

Sex Piston (Biker Bitches, #1)Sex Piston by Jamie Begley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was everything I thought it would be. I cannot wait for more of this Biker Bitches series. Its nice to see the male bikers aren't the only bad asses. This book touches on so many different things - love, family secrets, bullying, sex, MC, sex, drugs, sex, true friendship, and of course sex.

I have quite a few gif's that make me think of this book when I see them and YES some of them can be considered NC-17.

When the subject of bullying came up I had a Mean Girls/Heathers/The Craft flashback.

But through it all true friendship will last forever.

Including an overdose of

Now being claimed by Stud was amazing. I can be honest and say I was definitely plotting SP's downfall.

And that office scene....

Stud was amazing! He put it down on SP volcano hot EVERY TIME

I cannot wait for the next story and sidenote the hospital scene with Shade. smh

I loved this book.
