Beck (Corps Security #3) by Harper Sloan

Synopsis:

**Warning** This book is intended for a mature reading**

~DEE~

I’ve always been good at wearing masks. Not letting anyone see the real me. I’m content being the happy-go-lucky best friend. The strong willed boss. The independent woman who doesn’t need a man.

But the truth is I’m just as broken as the rest of you. I’m terrified that all it will take is one person to make all my carefully constructed walls crumble into fine dust. So I guard my heart with everything I have. Determined to never let anyone get close enough to hurt me again.

All is perfect until HE walks into my life. No… he doesn’t just walk. He struts his good-looking, sex-oozing self-right into my space and demands that I see HIM. Making me want what I know I can’t have.

So I did the only thing I know how to do.
I run.
But he just won’t let me go.

~BECK~

The second I see her, I know she will be mine. I see past the gorgeous smiles and heart-stopping laughter. I see HER. She doesn’t want me to know her secrets or the past that haunts her, but I make it my mission to find out.

To make her mine.

She can run all she wants, but it will never be far enough to stop me from coming after her.
She’s it for me and she knows it.
She’s just too scared to admit it.

Review:
Once again I am so honored & jazzed to be one of the first few people to get ahold of Beck and Dee's story thru Twinsie Talk Book Tours.

The first thing I think its very important to understand is that this is not a fluff piece. An easy read. There are books that are emotionally hard to read and this is one of them. I know I wasn't the only one hearing Danity Kane's Damaged as I read this. Dee's background is so troubled and so dark that you can't help, but want the best for her. (Along with some serious therapy) The world is not all unicorns and glitter, and just because you have been introduced to the man of your dreams doesn't always mean you two are the right fit at that direct time. I say this, not as a deterrent, but as a reason why a person should read this book.

I am familiar with the entire series (I did review Cage when it was released as well). It is always nice to return to a favored series and visit known characters. From the getgo Beck and Dee's relationship was doomed. Dee was definitely not ready for what Beck was willing to give to her and wouldn't be ready for sometime.

For this book, the pace was slow enough for you to actually see the progress of Beck/Dee, but not so slow that the book was in danger of falling into the dreaded DNF (did not finish pile). And one of the most important parts of this book, Harper reminded me of Stephen King because in his books no one is safe. Anyone and everyone is vulnerable. Even though what happened - happened I was relieved to see that his brother was welcomed into the circle. I cannot wait to see how he is incorporated in this series; a series which get's better and better with each release.

Sex Piston (Biker Bitches #1) by Jamie Begley

Sex Piston (Biker Bitches, #1)Sex Piston by Jamie Begley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was everything I thought it would be. I cannot wait for more of this Biker Bitches series. Its nice to see the male bikers aren't the only bad asses. This book touches on so many different things - love, family secrets, bullying, sex, MC, sex, drugs, sex, true friendship, and of course sex.

I have quite a few gif's that make me think of this book when I see them and YES some of them can be considered NC-17.

When the subject of bullying came up I had a Mean Girls/Heathers/The Craft flashback.

But through it all true friendship will last forever.

Including an overdose of

Now being claimed by Stud was amazing. I can be honest and say I was definitely plotting SP's downfall.

And that office scene....

Stud was amazing! He put it down on SP volcano hot EVERY TIME

I cannot wait for the next story and sidenote the hospital scene with Shade. smh

I loved this book.

Broken Dove by Kristen Ashley

IF there was ever an author that I love more than Julie Garwood it would have to be Kristen Ashley (KA). To date, she has never let me down with any of her books. Yes some have anti-heros and not the quintessential Prince Charming, but her books - honey they are everything.

The same can be said for her most current release Broken Dove. This book gave me LIFE and was everything I wanted it to be. It is a part of her Fantasyland series and it is strongly advisable that you have read the other books in the series first.

KA has such a way with description, dialogue and action that you could translate her books into a movie and they would be a hit. In fact, I wish her books would be optioned for shows on a nudity friendly network. :wink wink: Broken Dove is the story of Ilsa and Apollo. I was introduced to Apollo in a previous book and have been chomping at the bit ever since. After much begging and pestering on KA's Facebook page I heard this was being released this year. Huzzah! (inside joke).

This book was epic. In the previous books you get the idea that something big is brewing in this world. Let me back up by saying the Fantasyland series is based on the concept of parallel universes. In one is our world and the other is kind of a medieval world. And in this alternate universe everyone has a twin whether they are good or evil is unknown. There are situations where a twin is evil and the other good, and there are situations where both twins are good. The premise is that Apollo from the medieval universe pays the witch Valentine to bring the Ilsa of our universe over to his. In Apollo's world he was married to Ilsa's twin and the same for Ilsa, but his twin goes by the name Pol. Even though Ilsa's twin is also good Apollo's twin is not. I don't want to go into too much detail, but this book is not simply Ilsa trying to fit in to this new life in the parallel universe. There is intrigue, back-stabbing, murder plots, magic, Ilsa and Apollo both dealing with their emotional baggage and most importantly the love story of Apollo and Ilsa.

The love scenes are mind-blowing, the action is A+ and the development of the two main characters is stellar. All in all, a great read from a phenomenal author.

And for your gif'ing pleasure

I was so excited for Lahn/Circe to make an appearance because their story is my ultimate fav.

Because Lahn is THE END ALL

But I digress. The chemistry between Apollo and Maddie when they finally let go....

And let's not forget when Apollo and Madeline did their 'exploring' sessions. :screams:

Somebody liked gettin their ass smacked....

Apollo was so erotic and delicious

And their kisses were molten

And yes Buttercup, the same can be said for Madeleine and Apollo

And finally...

Until November (Until #1 Series) by Aurora Rose Reynolds

I wasn’t familiar with this author, but based on the power of suggestion through Goodreads I decided to pick this title up and boy am I glad that I did.

Initially, I wasn’t sure how I felt about November. I like characters with unique names, unique not ridiculous, and I appreciated the names of the two main characters. I loved November’s quirkiness. Whether it was her having one-sided conversations with Beast or mumbling things under her breath. She was so adorable and fresh. Her childhood and adulthood, so far, was no picnic, but she still maintained an excitement and zest for life. I could see why Asher would fall so hard and quickly for her.

Asher Mayson…. Now this is one man that lives up to the sexiness of his name. And the author just had to add in the three brothers.

Sexiness and instant orgasm equals Cash, Trevor and Nico. There’s something about tall, tattooed, Alpha men. Throw in a good dose of possessive tendencies and intensity and you have a winner. And can I say I want to experience this “Asher fog” because it sounds AWESOME. :sighs:
I kinda felt as if the purpose of her moving to Tennessee takes a backseat to Asher/November’s developing relationship, but I am okay with that. I know I cannot wait to read more about the Mayson family.
