Sapphire Flames by Ilona Andrews

Sapphire Flames (Hidden Legacy, #4)Sapphire Flames by Ilona Andrews
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing my ARC.

First off, I do feel that you need to have read the Hidden Legacy series before starting Catalina Baylor’s story. Based on the previous series, we know that Catalina is the new Prime of the Baylor house (her older sister Nevada has married and joined a new house). She has been classified as a Siren, which is a form of Truthseeking. Catalina is also the new head of the private investigation firm that the Baylor family owns. They have a new case – the death of a previous character’s (a friend who happens to be a modern day Poison Ivy) mother. With an old crush of hers, Alessandro, who is more than he seems they work together to solve the murder while building alliances and learning new things along the way.

Pythen by Erin Raegan (Galactic Mates book 1)

Pythen (Galactic Order, #1)Pythen by Erin Raegan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was searching thru Amazon for something to read and stumbled upon this series. The initial sexual interaction between the two main characters, I can admit, was hard to read. It straddled the line of consent. I enjoyed the description and the interactions between the characters. The aliens were different and reminded me of the 90s cartoon Gargoyles. I enjoyed it and will be reading the rest of the series.

ARC: American Witch by Thea Harrison

American WitchAmerican Witch by Thea Harrison
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This author created such a well-written story because of the fact that she created likeable and relatable characters as well as unlikeable characters. To be honest, some of the characters were so detestable I wanted their comeuppance in the form of a house falling straight on top of them. Austin I’m looking at you. I am no stranger to Thea Harrison’s works and I am proud to say that this book is just as engaging as her Elder Race series. Molly is a burgeoning witch and just so happens to have a magical outburst during a public altercation between her and her soon to be ex-husband. Little does she know that a powerful warlock is in her vicinity and offers to assist her in learning the magical ropes. He has his own motives and training a new witch definitely isn’t one of them, but power recognizes power. Josiah, and his coven, has plans – dangerous plans. And as such, this story is more than just Molly and Josiah building a foundation and a relationship. There are feelings but they take a backseat to Josiah’s plans, but in the process Molly finds her true calling and taps into an amazing power. These two characters are on two different pathways in life, but these paths intertwine and this is that intertwining story.

In a Badger Way (Honey Badger Chronicles, #2) by Shelly Laurenston

In a Badger Way (Honey Badger Chronicles, #2)In a Badger Way by Shelly Laurenston
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Shelly Laurenston always writes the funniest books. She has the perfect combo of humor, romance and action. Its never dull when you read her shifter books. So now that we know Honey Badger's exist and that they are all thieves that eat snakes whom are also hard to kill - in walks Shen and Stevie. She is manic and a prodigy. Shen is laid back and all he wants to do is his job and eat bamboo. The most unlikely combo, but throw in a suspect ex of Stevie's and the craziness that is the MacKilligan family and you have yourself a great read.

No Man Can Tame (The Dark-Elves of Nightbloom, #1) by Miranda Honfleur

No Man Can Tame (The Dark-Elves of Nightbloom, #1)No Man Can Tame by Miranda Honfleur
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Picked this up based on the cover, but Veron and Aless pulled me in. It took me a few tries before I became immersed, but once I did-I was all in. These aren't your Lord of the Rings elves. These are some claw-having assassins with grey skin and fangs.
Princess Alessandra is a pawn in her father and one of the Queen of the elf kingdom's plans. Hopefully, she can get the prince of the elves to go along with her plan but little does she know that the elves are starving and her marriage is the sole answer.

When I think of Veron I think of Prince Nuada.

And Princess Alessandra

I'm so excited for the next part in the series. The Brotherhood I'm sure will be back and so will (view spoiler).
