ARC Until Jax by Aurora Rose Reynolds

Summary:

Ellie Anthony isn’t looking for love. She isn’t even looking for a man, but when Jax Mayson insists on keeping her and her daughter safe, she’s left with no choice but to trust him. Now she just hopes she doesn’t get hurt when she falls hard for a guy who’s known for breaking hearts.

Jax Mayson knows that Ellie is his BOOM the moment he sees her. When he finds out she has a daughter, he realizes he wants a family, and he will do whatever is necessary to keep both of his girls safe, even if that means facing the demons from his past.

Review:

What I love so much about this new generation of Mayson men is their subtlety. Their seduction [winning over of their women] is not direct and in your face. Its crafty and understated so that before she even knows it - the woman is caught hook line sinker. I love it!

I think my most favorite part of this book is the continuous insistence that Ellie and Holly have found a family in the Mayson clan. Whether it was regarding work, child care, a car, food - the answer was always we are family/don't worry about it. So touching and overwhelming to someone like Ellie who has only had herself to rely on for as long as she can remember. Ellie's character is a great example of a strong woman. A young single mother that didn't let her circumstances stop her from bettering herself and taking care of her daughter. She didn't need Jax to swoop in and save her (besides the obvious) and the author didn't use Jax as a means to upgrade Elle (which I appreciated).

For those of us familiar with the first generation Mayson men we are familiar with the BOOM that the men wait their lives for. Ellie is Jax's BOOM and they are perfect for each other. If you're familiar with other ARR books this will not be a disappointment and falls in line with the excellent writing we are used to. The reader will get action, love, flirting, anger, a clever seduction, tension build up of not knowing whom the villain is, plenty of tugs on the heart strings and of course a cute little kid.

As per usual, in the midst of telling an amazing story ARR is dropping crumbs of awesomeness for the next book in the series. We are introduced to Kimberly and Sage and I cannot wait for that story to be told - it involves a sexy hook up, mistaken identites and a roofie.

This book is definitely worth the read and I am so thankful to be granted an advanced reader's copy of it.
