Playing with Fire by Cynthia Eden
Cassie Armstrong has plenty to atone for. The daughter of the most immoral researcher ever to pick up a scalpel, she's determined to use her own brilliance in genetics to repair the damage her family has done to the paranormals. Especially Dante, the first of the phoenixes, the one they call the Immortal. He's been haunting her dreams since she was a little girl, and she's been trying to ease his pain for almost as long. If only he remembered any of it...Dante doesn't know what Cassie's story is. He almost doesn't care. The minute he sees her, all he can think is mine. But there's more to the pretty little doctor than meets the eye. And Dante isn't the only one to notice. He can't trust her, but he can't stay away - and if he wants to learn her secrets, he's going to have to fight like hell to keep them both alive...
I haven't read Cynthia Eden in a good long while, but what I do know is she has not lost her touch for writing the Paranormal. I loved this book so much. I did not, however, read the first two in the series but I was still able to navigate and enjoy my way thru this story. I did wish the reader was able to get more into Dante's head and his feelings [or lack-thereof], but I still enjoyed his character. He was authentic and realistic. As realistic as a Phoenix can be. I say authentic because if we're talking about the oldest living Phoenix and someone who has lived centuries I believe they would have a disregard for life that matched Dante's. Now Cassie - I admired her drive to undo what her father had done, but at some point don't you just give in and say this situation is FUBAR? I loved the chemistry between Dante and Cassie and the idea of Dante continually resurrecting and sometimes retaining his memories of her. Good read!

Vasily's Revenge by Latrivia Nelson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I read part 1 a few months ago and couldn't wait until part 2 was released. I am absolutely in love with the Medlov crime series. Anatoly, Gabriel, Dmitry, and Vasily - love'em all.
Latrivia has done it again. Not one of these books has ever been a letdown. Sexy, possessive, and dangerous. This series needs to be optioned for television. I am literally on the edge of my seat every time I open one of these books. This one was no different. We've always seen Vasily in the background as head of security, but now we get to read about his past and how he came to be with Dmitry.
We also get to have mini reunions with Royal, Renee, Briggy and the kids. For the sake of not posting a spoiler alert I'll just say Gabriel and Briggy's story is obviously the next up. I CANNOT WAIT! It promises to be oh so delicious.

Once again we see why Dmitry is the Czar of the Underworld.

Nothing get's by him. He knows ALL and is always two steps ahead. He was handling business before Gabriel, Anatoly and Vasily's collective first pubic hair sprouted.
And Leo....I had not an ounce of pity for him.

Well, you sent for Lily so Vasily came as a result. And I was all...

Vasily went straight Predator on the whole situation.

And when the book finally wrapped up. It was all

And some straight mischief managed type of sh*t

And the Epilogue...she set Gabriel/Briggy up so well.

Dirty Girl (Inked, #2) by Jenika Snow

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
YES! Naggie and Booshie!

I couldn't wait to read their story ever since I finished book one. It was everything I hoped it would be and more.

These two are perfectly matched. Dirty talkers, foul mouths and filthy sex. hehe

Misdeeds (Death Dwellers MC #2.5) by Kathryn Kelly

My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Explicit language warning....
This

If I could've punched Kendall I would've. She was the cause of so much drama and trouble. Half the shit that went down wouldn't have happened if not for her irritating, needy, self-hating ass. Man! Get a grip. Yes, your life was [is] shit, but now you've got this fine piece of biker ass and you STILL continue to self-sabotage.
I was thru with her before the book began and utterly thru with her 30 pages into the book.

The back and forth between her and Megan was two seconds away from being too much and super saturated.

Kendall needed a good ole slap slap with her Dynasty drama

Sidenote : Christopher is

And Mortician needs to get with the Bailey program...QUICK

Leave a Trail (Signal Bend, #7) by Susan Fanetti

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Can we please talk about how bittersweet and just all around 'boo hoo' city this completion of the Signal Bend series is. Once again I can say that I did shed some tears for this one. Le sigh.

After seven books you are so invested in this town, its people and of course the Horde. Talk about a book full of strong characters. Unbelievably strong ride or die men and women.

So many times I found myself railing to the author....

But then I told myself

So many characters that were larger than life, so much so that they seemed to rise from the pages and become reality.
Isaac. That man....
Cory, Badger, Bart, Show, Len, Lily, Havoc (ugly cry). Man, I was sad to see them all go but I was happy to see many of them get the HEA that they deserved. I am emotionally drained - heart sore, angry, heartbroken, happy, empty, shell shocked and the list goes on.
It was definitely a Hard Knock Life.

Devoured (Brides of the Kindred, #11) by Evangeline Anderson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Another instant love. I swear this series and this author can do no wrong in my eyes. :sighs: Thank you book fairy for leading me to Evangeline Anderson.

I couldn't stop reading this until I was absolutely finished. I threw this ontop of my ever-lengthening TBR pile because the fairy was saying...

This book was delicious.

I cannot wait for the next in the series.
