Justified (ALFHA LAW Series #1) by Aurora Rose Reynolds

After the first sighting, he’s fascinated.

After the first smile, he’s infatuated.

By the first kiss, he’s obsessed.

Nolan sees Chloe through a window of a bakery in downtown Manhattan. At first sight, something about her calls to a piece of him he thought was lost. Without thinking, he begins watching her, and when the moment presents itself, he strikes, claiming Chloe for himself. For a man who is used to getting what he wants Nolan wont let anyone or anything stand in his way.

Review
I already knew that when I received my ARC that I was going to enjoy it. I say that because there are authors that you pre-order and auto-buy just based on their previous works. Aurora Rose Reynolds (ARR) is one of those authors and I had no reason to believe that Justified would be any different. I do recall her offering a small warning that the main character Nolan was Alpha times ten and some may not be okay with it.

I started the book while on my lunch break at work and BOY BOY BOY! The first phrase in the book says it all. Nolan is incredibly possessive, jealous, determined, and focused.  And his attention is centered on Chloe, a woman he happened to see in a bakery window.  Nolan doesn’t pull any punches and immediately pursues her. I have to admit I was a little put off by, not how he began to pursue her but her reaction to it. She was a little too accepting of a strange man walking her home. Unrealistic to me. I did however enjoy how protective he was towards her. I suppose her character called for Nolan’s type of character, a knight in shining armor.

I was also a bit thrown off by the length of this read. It was less than 100 pages and I am accustomed to 100+ pages from ARR, but its length didn't inhibit this spicy read. Nolan is a sex god and we all should be so lucky. :) I definitely enjoyed this glimpse into the ALFHA LAW Series, but I didn’t like the villain. For the sake of not spilling the beans of the story I’ll leave it as I would’ve preferred a more believable villain [mastermind] behind it all. Though, this wasn’t a deal breaker for me – Aurora Rose Reynolds remains on my auto-buy list.
